AMANDA COOKSEY

- DIRECTOR OF A&R/FILM & TV -

Born and raised in Orlando, Amanda Cooksey has always had a passion for music. She started taking piano lessons at the age of six and went on to take vocal lessons and write songs shortly after. Throughout high school, Amanda played at various bars and restaurants around Florida. She was fortunate to perform at The VIP lounge at the Sounds of Summer Tour with Dierks Bentley, Kip Moore, Maddie & Tae and Canaan Smith, and open for Michael Ray in his hometown of Eustis at Boleros Cigar Bar with other talented songwriters. After high school, Amanda was accepted to Belmont University and moved to Nashville in 2014.

She graduated with a degree in Business Administration in just two years and later went back to Belmont after being accepted into their Songwriting program. During this time, she interned with MV2 Entertainment, Barbara Cloyd, Daredevil Production and eventually met Demolition’s General Manager, Michael August, at a writer’s round in 2018. After talking about her interest in publishing and love of songwriting, she landed an internship with Demolition and was later given the position of Creative Coordinator. In 2020, Amanda went back to school part time to further her education and graduated with a Master’s in Public Relations from the University of Florida. Since then, Amanda was promoted to A&R Manager and found her passion in the Film&TV space where she now volunteers her time as the Communications Chair on the Nashville In Sync board. Working alongside Demolition's Sync Consultant, Richard Harris, the two have been instrumental in garnering placements for the writers on the roster. Amanda was recently promoted to Director of A&R/FILM & TV where she works across all genres.
